The Hobbit (1977 Animated Film)
A short clip of an encounter with Smaug from the 1977 animated Rankin/Bass Hobbit film. Despite a few flaws, I believe this animated version to be much closer in style and aesthetics to Tolkien’s book (as opposed to Peter Jackson’s live-action take). The hand-drawn character designs and backgrounds are incredible:
Star Trek: The Animated Series
A short clip from Star Trek: The Animated Series (much better than the original live action show). This series was produced by Filmation, the same animation studio that brought us the likes of She-Ra: Princess of Power, Blackstar, and Ghostbusters:
