The Hobbit (1977 Animated Film)

A short clip of an encounter with Smaug from the 1977 animated Rankin/Bass Hobbit film. Despite a few flaws, I believe this animated version to be much closer in style and aesthetics to Tolkien’s book (as opposed to Peter Jackson’s live-action take). The hand-drawn character designs and backgrounds are incredible:
