Art Journal- October 26, 2022
As a naturally shy person, I’m learning that I take to Instagram much better than Twitter! And that’s okay… We all function within a bubble and while we can stretch out a bit here and there beyond our comfort zone, at a certain point, especially as an artist and writer, one must go his or her own way (as Stevie Nicks would say).
AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta) is coming up this weekend here in Atlanta, GA. It’s especially fun to walk around the Artist Alley area. I think the conventions are still recovering from the pandemic and trying to mend the wounds of the last three years or so. Some of the conventions didn’t survive the three year absence. Gradually, I imagine more and more conventions (as well as various entertainment and art events) will make a recovery. The process will simply take time.
In book news, my graphic novel, A Home Without, is nearing the final stages. I’m both nervous and excited. Again, I can’t wait for this book to be in the hands of readers. Currently, I’m also working on a sequel to my prose novel, Portraits of Familiar Strangers. I’ve decided on a title for the new prose book, but will hold off on announcing that until a date in the near future.
To everyone out there… Be safe—enjoy Halloween. I love you!
